Software Signal Weekly

When you choose to subscribe, beehiiv receives your email address and records your subscription status, signup source, and delivery or engagement events needed to operate Software Signal Weekly. This information is used to run double opt-in, send the newsletter, honour unsubscribe choices, and understand aggregate newsletter performance.

Newsletter information is retained in beehiiv while you are subscribed. Unsubscribing stops newsletter delivery; your address and unsubscribe status may remain as a suppression record so that choice can be honoured. You may also request eligible deletion through the privacy contact below. Newsletter signup is optional and is not required to use the website, apply for training, or access a course.

Who provides this site and training

This website and Software Signal training are provided by Suyog Joshi, trading as Software Signal, in Pune, Maharashtra, India.

Information collected and why

  • Website use: page, browser, device and approximate location information for aggregate analytics, security and site improvement.
  • Contact and feedback: name, email, message, anonymous feedback identifier, rating and optional comment to answer enquiries, prevent spam and improve content.
  • Application and profile: identity, email, timezone, adult confirmation, readiness answers, references and versioned acknowledgements to authenticate, review and administer an application.
  • Payment and reconciliation: provider and internal transaction identifiers, amount, status, confirmation, refund, dispute and reconciliation records. Software Signal does not store card details, bank credentials, CVV or UPI PIN.
  • Learning: attendance, submissions, support activity, access and completion evidence when a course runs.
  • Security and operations: session, audit and limited operational logs to maintain access, prevent misuse, investigate failures and preserve reliable records.

Do not send sensitive or unnecessary personal information through free-text fields.

Service providers and storage

GitHub Pages hosts the public website. Google Analytics measures public-page use. AWS services support authentication, forms, application storage, email and operations. Meeting, storage and learning-resource providers are disclosed before use for a cohort.

Optional cohort WhatsApp group

The cohort WhatsApp group is optional. Joining may expose your phone number and profile information to other group members. Email remains available, and no essential announcement or support information is available only through WhatsApp; essential formal information is also sent by email or shown in My Learning. Assignments and capstones are not submitted through WhatsApp.

Razorpay

Razorpay processes available INR payments as an independent payment service provider and may receive contact information, payment amount, course/payment description, transaction identifiers, device and fraud-prevention data. Razorpay applies its own privacy and security terms. Software Signal receives payment status and reconciliation data but not card numbers, CVV, bank passwords or UPI PIN. Razorpay-owned email, SMS and reminders are disabled; your bank or payment app may still send its own transactional messages.

Cookies and browser storage

Google Analytics may use browser identifiers for site measurement. The site also uses browser storage for navigation state, anonymous feedback identity, application drafts and authenticated learner sessions. Disabling storage may prevent those features from working correctly.

Retention policy and current handling

These are the approved retention boundaries. Lifecycle review, deletion and anonymisation are currently administered manually; this notice does not represent that an automated deletion job runs exactly when a period ends.

  • Abandoned application drafts stored in your browser: up to 7 days or until submission.
  • Applications, learner profiles and unsuccessful applications: the retention baseline is 365 days, followed by manual review for eligible deletion or anonymisation.
  • Payment, refund, reconciliation, dispute, support, grievance and audit evidence: retained for at least 365 days, and longer while required for an active dispute, legal requirement, security investigation or reconciliation.
  • Course recordings: the policy maximum is 90 days; removal is currently administered through the provider’s operational process.
  • Operational security logs and learning records: retained only as long as reasonably required for the stated operational, learning, security or legal purpose and reviewed manually where no automated lifecycle applies.

Marketing, testimonials and identifiable public or promotional use are optional and separate from application, enrolment and course access. Declining or withdrawing optional consent does not affect admission.

Access, correction and deletion

You may request access to, correction of or deletion of your information. Identity may need to be verified. Each verified deletion request is evaluated manually; eligible personal data is then deleted or anonymised through the applicable operational process. This is not an automatic or immediate deletion guarantee. Required financial, audit, fraud-prevention, dispute, reconciliation, security-investigation or legal evidence is preserved, and the response will explain what remains and why.

Changes to this notice

Material changes are published prospectively with a new version and effective instant. Existing learner acknowledgements and commercial snapshots are not silently rewritten unless legally required or expressly agreed.

Existing training acknowledgements continue to identify the preserved commercial snapshot software-signal-privacy@1.1.0, effective . Version 1.2.0 adds the optional newsletter disclosure prospectively and does not rewrite that snapshot.
